Directions to 16 Bow St, (Union Sq), Somerville
By car:
From Boston Back Bay &
South Shore/Cape Cod Area:
Take I-93 North or proceed to the Big Dig Tip O'Neil Tunnel towards I-93 North.
Cross the Leonard Zakim Bunker Hill Cable Bridge and stay on I-93.
Continue on I-93 North to Exit 28, marked
"Sullivan Sq, Rt 99/Somerville." At the exit Turn
left on to Cambridge St. Continue on Cambridge St. past Mt. Vernon
St when Cambridge St. turns to Washington St.
Stay on Washington St. past Route 28 (McGrath
Hwy) and after Allen St Turn Left at
Prospect St. for 1/2 a block and then turn Right on to Somerville Ave.
From Somerville Ave you will come into Union Sq. Stay on the right lane
and Bear right at the fork on to Bow St.
16 Bow St. is across the street from Block 11 Cafe upstairs on the second floor
of the Brazillian Bakery.
From Western Suburb &
Towns at North Side of Charles River:
Take Route 16 East either from Watertown (Mt. Auburn St) or Cambridge (via.
Alewife Brook Pkwy) and stay on Route 16
till you reach Massachusetts Avenue at the border between Cambridge &
Arlington. Turn Right on the Massachusetts
Avenue and head towards Porter Sq. At
Porter Sq bear Left on to Somerville Ave. Continue on Somerville
Ave passing Porter Sq until you reach Union Sq, Somerville. Once you are
at Union Sq Bear Left on to Bow St and
we are across the street from Block 11 Cafe on the second floor above he
Brazillian Bakery.
From Northern suburbs or
North Shore: Take I-93
Southbound from New Hampshire or 128/95 and Take
Exit 28 marked "Sullivan Sq/Charlestown." Merge
on to Mystic Ave and continue on
Mystic Ave until you past Austin St to Mt. Vernon St. Turn
right (away from I-93) on to Mt. Vernon
St. and Immediately turn Right again on to Broadway. Continue on
Broadway until you past Kensington Ave and reach Route 28 (McGath Hwy).
Turn Left on to McGrath Hwy (Route 28)
and continue on Route 28 McGrath Hwy until you reach Washington St. Turn
Right on to Washington St. and follow the directions to Union Sq from
above (See Boston Back Bay & South Shore/Cape Cod Directions).
From Western Suburbs &
Towns South Side of Charles River [Mass Pike (I-90 Eastbound)]:
From Newton, Waltham, Lexington & Concord area, the easiest route would be
to get on the Massachusetts Turnpike I-90 Eastbound. Follow I-90 to the
I-93 North intercharge and go through the new Big Dig Liberty Tunnel and
follow instructions from above.
Public transportation:
By MBTA (Bus from T stations along RED LINE & ORANGE LINE): Three MAJOR BUS LINES stop at or very close to Union Square from Sullivan Sq (Somerville), Davis Sq (Medford) or Harvard Square (Cambridge), allowing for ease of public transportation access from multiple points of the Boston area. (1) Route 91 and Route 86 departing from Sullivan Square T Station (Orange Line) comes through Union Sq. (2) Route 86 departing from Brookline Cleveland Circle (Green Line) through the Harvard Square Dawes Island outside the T Terminal (Red Line) will also take you through Union Sq from the Brookline & Harvard Sq area .
