Simonida started her career as a professional Argentine tango teacher, performer and choreographer in San Francisco. She has repeatedly spent prolonged periods of time intensely studying tango in Buenos Aires. Exploring a variety of styles with notable  teachers  like Carlos Gavito, Gustavo Naveira, Carolina Bonaventura, Guillermina Quiroga, Ezequiel Paludi, and the masters of the Villa Urquiza style,  Jorge Dispari and Maria del Carmen, she has developed her unique 'signature'. A teacher of highest demand in the Boston area, she has also  been frequently invited to teach workshops and to perform in other tango communities in the US.  In addition to  offering regular group tango classes in the wider Boston area, she is a sought-after tango teacher for private lessons and choreographies for special occasions.  Previous training in ballet. In her teaching and social dance, Simonida focuses on connection and expressive dancing in close embrace. She also emphasizes delicacies of feet placement, adornments, elegance, long lines, sensuality, and dramatic expression through contrast between dynamic moves and pauses. She teaches tango classes for the Department of Physical Education at MIT. Host and house-DJ of Vida Mia in Somerville. Holds a Doctorate in Law from Munich, Germany, and a Master of the Science of Law from Stanford University.
